Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning is one of the fastest growing franchises in North America, with well over 200 locations in nearly every state - hard to imagine we just started in 2006. So how did Oxi Fresh go from one location to the best carpet cleaning franchise opportunity available?
Jonathan Barnett broke into the highly competitive world of carpet cleaning when he started Oxi Fresh of Denver during the Summer of 2006. Thanks to his entrepreneurial spirit and good business sense, in just a few months he established a total of 17 territories in five states.
Building the Brand
A properly trademarked name and logo is vital to protecting the identity of your business. During 2007, Oxi Fresh received the marks for our logo, the name "Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning", and the phrase "The Way Mother Nature Cleans®." By the end of the year, Oxi Fresh added 70 territories, for a total of 87 locations in 23 states.
New Offerings, Services, and a First
Where many companies have growing pains after a successful start up, Oxi Fresh continued to show healthy results. By the end of 2008, we added tile and grout cleaning to our service portfolio, acquired the toll free number 1-877-OXIFRESH, and had 145 territories in 38 states.
Oxi Fresh also received its first award from the Franchise Business Review (FBR). Based on an independent survey of franchise owners, the FBR ranked Oxi Fresh #13 out of the top 50 franchises in its Franchisee Satisfaction Awards.
Awards and Recognition
The FBR’s award in 2008 was just the beginning of the industry recognition Oxi Fresh would receive. In 2009, the FBR again included us in the Top 50, and this time we were ranked #2 in Franchisee Satisfaction. This was also the first year Oxi Fresh was named by Entrepreneur Magazine in their Franchise 500, coming in at #308. We were also ranked in several of their subcategories, including Low Cost Franchises (#68), Top Home-Based Franchises (#85), and Top New Franchises (#19).
In addition to all of this attention, Oxi Fresh received the mark for "The World's Greenest Carpet Cleaner®," joined both the U.S. Green Building Council and the Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association, and ended the year with 196 territories in 44 States.
In 2010, Oxi Fresh launched both its enhanced website and the new, state-of-the-art Customer Relationship Management system. This comprehensive software suite transformed how franchisees control their schedules, track returns on marketing investments, complete their payroll, and manage their customer databases and employees.
2010 was also a year full of awards. Entrepreneur ranked Oxi Fresh as #391 on its Franchise 500®, #9 on its list of Top New Franchises, and #30 on its list of the Fastest Growing Franchises. The FBR again ranked Oxi Fresh high at #7 in their Franchisee Satisfaction Award. Finally, the Franchise Times placed Oxi Fresh at #9 in their Fast 55, a list of the fastest growing new franchises.
By the end of the year, Oxi Fresh had reached 223 territories in 44 states.
A Busy Year
Oxi Fresh continued on its way to becoming the #1 carpet cleaning company in the world. In 2011 we redesigned our marketing materials, launched our new franchising website, held our first national convention, appeared on Fox Business News, received an EPA certification on a core product, and formed our Franchise Advisory Council.
While all this was happening, Oxi Fresh jumped up over 200 spots in the Franchise 500. We were ranked #126 overall, #3 for Top New Franchises, #63 for Fastest Growing Franchises, #26 for Low Cost Franchises, and #34 for Top Home Based Franchises. In another big step forward, Oxi Fresh moved up the FBR’s Large System category for the Franchisee Satisfaction Awards, where we came in at #44.
Oxi Fresh also found itself on a new ranking list this year when it was included in the Inc. 500|5000, an annual publication from Inc. magazine. The list complies the fastest growing, privately-held companies in the United States, and Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning came in at #1525 overall - an impressive placement - and #80 in Consumer Products and Services.
Oxi Fresh ended the year with 227 territories in 43 states.
